Asbestos Survey Before Demolition & Renovation in South Florida

Before many demolition and renovation permits can be issued in South Florida, an asbestos survey is required — and skipping it stops the permit cold. Endless Life Design coordinates asbestos surveys as part of our Government Permit Processing Service (from $4,500) so your project clears this requirement and keeps moving. Call (305) 680-3283 and we will handle the survey alongside your permit.

1. When an Asbestos Survey Is Required

Most South Florida building departments require an asbestos review from the county before a demolition or renovation permit will be issued. This applies to demolition and renovation projects involving commercial buildings, or residential buildings with four or more units, that affect regulated asbestos-containing materials above defined thresholds.

As a general rule, an asbestos survey must be completed for demolition and renovation projects over 160 square feet, with thresholds also defined in linear and cubic measures of regulated material. We confirm whether your project triggers the requirement. One call to (305) 680-3283 settles it.

2. How the Asbestos Survey Works

An asbestos survey is fast: a qualified inspector collects samples from the areas to be disturbed — typically about an hour on site — and a laboratory analyzes them, returning results and a report within a few days. Same-day or next-day sampling is often available.

We coordinate the survey, the lab work, and the report so the documentation is ready when your permit needs it, rather than discovered as a gap mid-application.

3. Why It Gates Your Permit

The asbestos review is a prerequisite the building department checks before issuing the permit for qualifying demolition and renovation work. Without the completed survey and report on file, the permit simply will not move.

We fold the survey into the front end of the process so it never becomes the bottleneck — the same coordinated approach we bring to our demolition permit process and broader project oversight.

4. Projects That Require an Asbestos Survey

Asbestos surveys are commonly required for demolition and renovation of commercial buildings, multifamily and condominium buildings with four or more units, hotels, offices, retail, and older structures throughout South Florida.

Developers, general contractors, property managers, and owners rely on us to handle this requirement cleanly. You never coordinate the lab or county yourself; we manage it on your behalf.

5. Call Endless Life Design for Your Asbestos Survey

The asbestos survey is a small, fast step that nonetheless gates major demolition and renovation permits. We make sure it is done early and correctly so it never holds up your project.

Our Government Permit Processing Service includes asbestos-survey coordination alongside the permit, so the prerequisite and the permit move together.

Clear the Asbestos Requirement and Keep Building

From sampling to lab report to the permit it unlocks, Endless Life Design coordinates the asbestos survey your South Florida demolition or renovation requires. Call (305) 680-3283 and let our team handle the survey and the permit together.
