Refrigerant management under EPA Section 608 and the AIM Act phasedown of HFCs requires every Miami-Dade HVAC technician to hold a Type I, II or III EPA 608 certification. The phaseout of R-410A is accelerating in 2026 with the transition to R-32 and R-454B mildly flammable (A2L) refrigerants.
